I did not instantly jump on the exposed zipper trend that emerged late 2008. In fact, I am still hesistant to wear it on something more formal. However, I have found some pieces that I would rock without hesitation. One is this cutout dress by Silence and Noise. The zipper is not only exposed but works its way into the cutout detailing in the back of the dress, making it the entire focal point of the dress. Even more impressive than a dramtic entrance, is a dramtic exit!

I was on my way to get some last minute goodies last Christmas Eve when I ran into a vey coloful middle aged woman sporting flat purple leather boots and among other things, a Santa hat. “What was so cool about that?” you ask. “Everyone is sporting colored flat boots.” Well, hers (we’ll call her the Christmas Elf) were bright puple and leather, not suede, like a majority of the colored flat boots. I received my daily update from Etsy, and a pair of sequined spats by jdotdesigns caught my eye. I decided to look at jdot’s other items, and I was totally inspired. Last year, my resolution was to not buy any new clothes. Ha! What a joke.
