Michael Jackson: A Tribute in Style
With the world in mourning over the death of Michael Jackson, expect tribute to the star to continue for some length of time. Tribute in the form of fashion was in the works even before the famed star’s death. Balmain made a collection of coats now sported by the likes of pop star’s Rihanna and Beyoncé. Balmain’s Fall Collection included coats mirroring the military style of Jackson. The coats were reported to have received Jackson’s blessing before his unexpected death. In a recent BET Awards show, which was entirely dedicated to Michael Jackson, many stars were seen in Jackson inspired attire. Singer/ producer Ryan Leslie sported a military inspired jacket with gold braiding by Burberry. Singer Ciara also wore a military inspired jacket with exaggerated shoulders. Singer Keri Hilson sported a silver sequined shirt, cropped pants, and loafers with white socks- a cute twist on Jackson’s Thriller look. Host Jaime Foxx changed into several comically Jackson inspired outfits throughout the evening. Recently, In Style featured an excerpt about Repetto Jackson loafers, named for the King of Pop, which will likely send the shoes flying off the racks.
