STYLE WARS loves Atlanta! The 2009 Style Battle Championship Tour hit our city on Friday, the 13th at Opera.  Atlanta is one of America’s most stylish cities this fall to promote the local design talent competition produced by House of Diehl. You saw it on Make Me A Supermodel.  You should have been there to witness the fitness live.

Called “The ‘8-Mile’ of Style,” House of Diehl’s STYLE BATTLING™ is pulse-racing live design, fusing the intensity and spontaneity of a rap battle with the glamour of fashion. Born in the basements of New York, Style Wars is blowing up all the way from San Francisco to South Africa, LA to London, Atlanta to Argentina. Check out the photos:  ATL STYLE WARS

DESIGNERS  8 Atlanta designers faced off in knock-out rounds of rapid design—working against the clock, on models, LIVE on stage. Cut, tape, burn, drape: competitors innovated to dominate the runway, using vintage garments and household objects to make fierce new fashions in 5 minutes! The crowd and a panel of Style Wars VIP judges chose which battlers bit the dust.

2009 VIP  judges included Mychael Knight of Project Runway, Nedra Rhone, fashion editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Kevin Knaus, fashion industry expert, and Sheree of the Real Atlanta Housewives.

CREATED by House of Diehl as an opportunity for fresh young designers to prove their chops, the incredible designs in style battling offered an edgy vision of future style.
